Out With the Old for Midway Two

[Published on IT Web: 1 April 2011] -

Midway Two, a leading staffing solutions company, decided to have a major hardware revamp with the help of Synergy Group's IT Solutions department.
Miles Regenass, Synergy Group IT Solutions Specialist, comments: “We assisted them [Midway Two] with a competitive quote for the best hardware currently on the market. With the proposed hardware and infrastructure upgrades, we will ensure that they can concentrate on the bottom line rather than on old servers giving problems.”

With two new HP DL380 G7 servers, Midway Two can be assured of having a system that delivers superior performance with increased flexibility, enterprise–class uptime, advanced server management features and so much more.

Virtualisation technology with VMware will be used to virtualise the new servers. With this technology, Midway Two will experience reduced IT costs while increasing the efficiency, utilisation, and flexibility of their existing assets. Virtualisation software is used to allow a piece of hardware (such as a server) to run multiple operating systems at the same time without the need for additional hardware.

Further to the new servers and virtualisation technology, all the licences will be updated to the latest Microsoft and Windows licensing. The server licensing will include the following: Windows Server 2008, Exchange Server 2010, SQL Server 2008 and, for additional peace of mind, the knowledgeable whizzes at Synergy Group will also install the Windows Forefront TMG Server licensing for superior security.

“Partnering with Synergy Group for our hardware upgrade is a natural choice as we have an existing relationship and have only experienced great service,” says Shaun Erasmus, IT Manager, Midway Two.

Soon it will be 'in with the new' for Midway Two with superior products and expertise from Synergy Group.
